Internships typically last one semester and provide students with an opportunity to use their classroom knowledge in a professional work environment. This experience will enable them to explore career options and deepen their professional development. CGI offers both paid and unpaid Internships.

Company recruiters visit campuses throughout the year; and recruiting continues throughout the spring semester. Students may also search and apply for positions online, and upload their resume.

My name is Emma Ellsworth, and I was hired on as a Grain Buyer Intern. In my time here I have discovered a few things about Columbia Grain. The thing I like most about working for Columbia Grain is the people. There is always someone willing to answer questions. Everyone makes sure that you know everything that is needed to get the job done. The culture of Columbia Grain is that of a family. Everyone in the office gets along and everyone can share a laugh from time to time.

This internship went above my expectations. I learned a lot in the few months that I was here. From the day to day of the office to knowing the small details of what a grain buyer does. I learned more about the futures market and how it is used to purchase grain from the grower. I gained a greater knowledge of the grain industry than I had before I started. I have found value in my internship. I found that the grain industry is a great place to work. This internship helped me to make the decision to pursue a career in the grain industry. Not knowing much about the grain industry was a challenge but through this internship I have gained a greater understanding of the grain industry. I was able to learn different skills that are going to help me in whatever career I choose.
